The things that will create a sense of peace will be different depending on the residents of the home. Some things to consider are
- reduce distractions and simplify
- use calming elements - gently candle light, chimes, waterfalls or fountains
- clean - a dirt or a mess tends to create stress
- lower the volume - fewer noise makers and lower sound levels (Additional noise has been found to raise blood pressure.)
- pleasant scents
Some other items that might be useful are rocking chairs, gardens (or just a few potted plants), bubble bath or flowers.
